 Crystal's Story

Crystal is the owner of the Crystal's RCM Piano Studio. She is certified by the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) and has a strong background in Behavioural Neuroscience.

​

Crystal's music journey began at the age of 4, when she was enrolled in a piano group class. Since then, she has also played various instruments, one of which was viola. She has competed in various competitions for both piano and viola. From a young age, she developed her deep passion in music, and aimed of becoming a piano teacher.

​

With her background and focus in Behavioural Neuroscience, Crystal has a deep understanding in the importance of music in the early development of a child's brain. She strives to combine her knowledge in science and music to bring out the highest musical potential in her students.

Our mission is to cultivate genuine musical interest and develop well-rounded musicians that seek to integrate principles of music learning with other areas in life.

We believe that music exists in everyone, regardless of cultural backgrounds and experiences. Musical behaviours are integrated into every human culture and holds great importance in representing the uniqueness and complexity of each. 

 

We believe that everyone is able to connect with music and understand it to their own unique extent.  It is our mission to bring out the potentials of our students. Our program aims to achieve excellence in music mastery through building confidence in various aspects of piano learning, including a thorough understanding of music theory, experience in competitions and examinations, and emotional connection to musical pieces.

Meet Our Team

Our Wonderful and Dedicated Teachers. 

Jinyi Yoo

Jinyi received a Bachelor's degree in Music and Education from the University

of Calgary, specializing in Elementary Music. She has 17 years of experience

teaching piano and works as an elementary music teacher in a school district.

Jinyi's teaching philosophy in Music is to foster a love for Music, make learning

enjoyable, and encourage self-expression. She wants to create a positive and

supportive environment where students can develop a genuine passion for Music.

Jinyi aims to inspire and engage them on their musical journey by nurturing their appreciation for Music.

Jenny Mu

Jenny is a Certified Teacher of Chinese Music Teachers and a certified piano teacher of GMT in the United States. She received a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Shenyang Normal University Conservatory of Music and has 10 years of experience in early childhood music education and 4 years of local teaching experience in Canada. Focused on the practice of music initiation education for many years, she is good at combining the advantages of Eastern and western teaching methods to guide students to love music. 

​

She worked at Shenyang Yutian Experimental Primary School and Jinbailing Training School as a music enlightenment teacher. Furthermore, Her awarded academic research paper on the Effects of Musical Enlightenment was published in the Journal of Beijing Contemporary Music Academy. Her students who learn the "Faber" music enlightenment course have achieved good musical development and achieved good results in various competitions including the RCM grading examination in Canada. They are active on the stage of charity performances. Jenny is a popular teacher among students and parents.

Sabrina Lin

Sabrina, an experienced piano teacher, brings a unique perspective to her music instruction, shaped by her background in Applied Animal Biology from the University of British Columbia. Her in-depth studies and research in animal behavior and psychology have fostered a teaching style built on patience, understanding, and individualized attention.

With a diverse teaching history, Sabrina has honed her ability to connect with learners of all ages. Her early role as a Red Cross Swimming Instructor instilled a nurturing and communicative approach, and her expertise as an English teacher has enriched her instructional capabilities.

Sabrina's journey as a piano teacher, following the RCM system, seamlessly blends her scientific foundation with her passion for music. This unique combination ensures her students not only master the art of piano but also gain a deeper appreciation for the world of music. Through her guidance, they discover the beauty of harmonizing their potential with the melodies of life.
